In the new Ben Hur movie, Juda Ben Hur hits his brother, and then Pilate orders 20 people from Jerusalem be executed because Ben Hur hit a man in Roman uniform.

In the Charlton Heston version of Ben Hur, Judah's sister knocks a tile off the roof of their house and it hits a Roman soldier. They come to take the "attacker" away, and Judah says he did it instead of the sister. Thus begins his journey.
