While I enjoy both anime and manga, I prefer to read the manga in most cases simply because the progression of the story in anime is usually very slow and I can control the pace of the manga far better.

What do you think? Which do you enjoy more and why?

I enjoy anime more for the visual aspect. I can get into the story, characters, and themes more hearing the voice inflections and seeing the color choices rather than reading manga.

Yeah, the anime really brings life to some part of the manga. Colour choices can do a lot to convey emotion that are harder to do in black and white.

Also the level of realism changes my view of it, because I can see a different approach the animators took. Your Lie in April, for example, is much more realistic than XHunterXHunterX. Look at the content and themes for each. Style can do a lot to convey the story mood as well.

I love them both animes and mangas. However, as you mentioned, the animes are rather slow. The producers usually present one episode per week. That's heartbreaking! So if I have an anime, I can't wait to see, I read the manga to keep my anxiety controlled.

I like anime better. Though I do admit that after I read the manga I wonder why the anime isnt better.

Yes, i admit that manga is just black and white and anime makes it easier to relate with the characters, but just like a movie and a book, i prefer books, and with the manga and anime, i prefer manga. I've read the whole Naruto first before watching and there's too many fillers in the anime. I love them both, but i love the manga more. Also, manga is straight from the author <3 It's just my opinion though

I love manga, it is compelling, but sometimes anime can be done exceptionally well. Death note, for example, was such a phenomenal anime, i feel i wouldn't have enjoyed a manga version of it. I am not sure but i feel so, so i think the medium depends on the nature of te work.

I love Manga... They are always awesome. I love anime too but not as much as Manga.

I would go for anime. The visuals being dynamic and all keeps me hooked. Not saying that manga does not do the same but still...anime for me.

None of them actually, I started watching anime but didn't grew very fond of it so it ended right there

I am an avid reader, so reading mangas definitely comes very naturally to me. However, in an anime, the added factor of the background music and the voices of the characters always help enhance the experience. For this reason I would choose the anime over the manga.

As much as I hate to say it, I enjoy watching an anime more so than reading manga. I get more involved when I can hear the characters voices and background music. The anime, Your Lie in April, is absolutely stunning in every way! Reading just its manga would not do the series justice because the reader would be missing out on a great experience. I think it just depends on what anime or manga you decide to watch and read.

Gotta say, manga used to be my bread and butter, especially if the drawings were especially clear where I could easily understand the objects/characters depicted. For me, I had to give up on anime when I encountered too many filler episodes - looking at Naruto specifically.
