Janice Ellis, the author of "From Liberty to Magnolia," if you're looking for a good memoir that tells about racism from the perspective of those who were discriminated against in America from the 1940s to 1980s.

Amazing ! I relate mostly to their memoirs and I enjoy reading about their past and what has led them this far . I somehow resonate.

I would recommend "The Color Purple, " by Alice Walker. It won the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1983.
