I'm trying to find books that will allow me to branch out.

I typically read books that are romance or books that are required for a class. I'm trying to find books where romance is included, but they don't have to be the main focus. I really want books that will spark my creativity and inspire me, I guess. Since quarantine, I've thought about writing my own book, but I just don't feel that creative lately. Any help?

One book I think of is "Love Story" by Erich Segal. It is fairly short, it's a romance, it is sad, and it was a movie years ago. Emily Bronte's novel "Wuthering Heights" is another sad one. D.H. Lawrence might have some also. All of these are older, "Love Story" is the most recent. Arthur Miller's "Death of A Salesman" is, in my opinion, about love gone wrong, and again depressing. "The Bridges of Madison County" is still older (1992 but set in the 1960's) but it was also made into a movie - that one is by Robert James Waller.
