Book Recommendation for Music Lover

Help me pick a book! I've been reduced to rereading my old favorites but would love a good recommendation.

I prefer non-fiction and gravitate towards music history and counter-culture books, think Barbarian Days by Will Finnegan and Mark Kurlansky's 1968 or Please Kill Me. However, I feel like they haven't been keeping my attention lately and I'm wondering if I should branch back out to fiction but it's been a while since I read a fiction novel that didn't make me feel sort of silly.

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

Thanks!

I recommend "They Lie Here," by N. S. Ford. It revolves around a writer who's on the trail of an enigmatic lead pop singer of an English band. It is a mystery and thrilling whodunit.
