"weird" or "dark" fantasy novels

Hello, I have been interested in getting into dark fantasy novels. I consider Arthur Machen's Hill Of Dreams and The White People to be the standard of what I am looking for. I also enjoy HP Lovecraft as well.

If you haven't read Lokis by Prosper Merimée, then I'd recommend it. It's 19th century horror novella told from the point-of-view of a linguistics professor (if my memory serves right) who travels to Lithuania and meets a count who is rumored to turn into a bear
The story itself is fairly short, but I found it unique and haunting, especially towards the end.
Unfortunately it's somewhat hard to find in English (especially for purchase), although I remember managing to find it online for free, since it's old enough to be in the public domain.
