Hello from Colorado!

Hi, I usually use the name Mythwriter online, seemed to fit pretty well here. I always enjoyed reading in multiple genres and especially talking and writing about them in English classes for high school. Trouble is, when you choose to pursue a degree in engineering, it's harder to find people as into the subject as you. So I finally hunted down a forum where it looked like actual discussions were talking place and cross-comment attacks weren't taking over. (In fact, I haven't seen any insults or attacks yet, it's amazing) And here I am!
My favorites are anything classic, mysteries/thrillers, fantasy and some science fiction. I'll admit I'm very critical of horror as I rarely find a book in that genre that scares me or has "meat" to it, and I'm no use if you ask me about romance novels, I just don't have any interest in them.
Finally, I obviously also enjoy writing a great deal, but I have yet to try to get anything published, mainly because my time is rather devoted elsewhere at the moment. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what others say in the writing sections, I was very pleased to see those!
Well, hopefully whoever reads this has not found it a total waste of time. Perhaps it will help in gauging the usefulness of my future posts?
