New and searching

Post by Lainey1978 »

Hello, I just joined tonight. I have a very long list of books I plan to read, but I just finished reading the Harry Potter series recently (yes I am an adult, and no I'm not ashamed, lol!), and I sort of...miss it. I feel sad that it's over. So where should I go on here to ask for help to get me over it?

Currently I'm reading a few books--Mister Monday by Garth Nix, Lolita, and Bridget Jones's Diary. I was feeling kind of out of sorts about Lolita so I decided to break it up with other stuff. Next up I've got Persuasion and The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I also have a few on hold at the library that haven't come in yet. Then I own The Stand and Middlemarch, which I haven't read yet but want to.

Wow. There's some heavy reading there! After reading a long and detailed book like Potter, maybe you can get over it by reading something light and fluffy?

I'd reccommend "Lost It" by Kristin Tracy. Yes, it's a young adult novel and no, I'm not ashamed! (haha) it's just one of those books that you can pick up and read through in a few hours, and then move on! Really good, but not too heavy.
