Hello from the UK

Post by Batspice »

Hi

My name is Pauline and I'm from Derbyshire in the UK. I love to read and I love to discuss the books that I've read. We tried a book club on a forum that I used to run but folks couldnt commit the time to keep up with it so I thought I would look for a purpose made forum.

Looking forward to hearing and sharing thoughts and getting some inspiration for what to read next.

Hey - thanks for the welcome.

I like to read all sorts, although I'm not particularly bothered about romantic novels including some of the classics!! Favourite authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Nick Hornby, Stephen King, Thomas Hardy, Tolstoy.

In my younger days I read a lot of Catherine Cookson & Agatha Christie, but did them to death really, and I used to read alot of Terry Brooks type fantasy but not so bothered about that now either.

How about yourself?

I live in Derbyshire now but was born and lived in Newcastle until I was 24 - I still have close family up there and we try to get back as often as we can!

I stated SK's Misery a couple of weeks ago, but I'm not getting on too well with it. I do love The Stand, Pet Semetery, The Green Mile, and The Shining though.
