Hello. My user name is Sophius, if it was not already apparent, and quite obviously, I am new to this forum. I am uncertain as to how I should introduce myself, so I suppose that a good way to do so would be to list my age, favorite genre and authors, and my aspirations.
I am fourteen years old, which puts me in my freshman year of highschool. Though I find the classes to be generally boring, there might be and opporotunity for me to take a creative writing class at the local college.
My favorite genre is horror, and my favorite authors are: Stephen King, Frank Herbert, Bram Stoker, and Edgar Allen Poe. The only other horror author I've read(my parents didn't let me get into horror until last April) is H.P. Lovecraft, whom I am finding to be alright, but unspectacular. It is therefore it would be appreciated if someone could suggest a good horror author(I don't really like the look of Dean Koontz.) I also have heard that Kurt Vonegut is an author who suits my taste, so I was wondering if opinions of this author could be given.
As for my aspirations, I desire to be a novelist and a teacher of creative writing. I am currently working on writing, but I am afraid I do not yet posses the ability to stretch a story to novelistic porportions while maintaining a stellar manner of writing, but nonetheless I often use my freetime to write.
I hope I find this forum to be fulfilling as I have long craved the opportunity to discuss books and writing.
