You'll love November's discussion then, since it will be Historical Fiction.

For me, my go-to genre would have to be classical fictions. Reading a classic always lifts my spirits and the author I love to read is Jane Austen. I love all of her works and have read most of her books countless times.

My go-to genre is anything with romance. I usually tend to read romance with a variety of other main themed genres. Romance and scientific fiction seem to be popular reads for me at the moment, although I do have a paranormal one lined up. True love is the greatest thing in the world and the most powerful, not excluding the love for family and best friends who are family.

I love fantasy novels. They are what peak my imagination the most. I love being able to explore worlds totally different from ours and adding magic makes everything better. I am also a lover of classic literature. I love Austen and the Brontes. Historical fiction is also a go to, fitting in nicely with classic literature. I have been reading the "Scarlet Pimpernel" books and I love them. These are definitely my go tos but if a novel has great characters that I can get invested in, then I have to read it.

My go-to genre is probably a thriller featuring a female lead. I love femme fatale stories. I can appreciate a drama every now and then, but day-to-day life with small obstacles to overcome don't really hold my attention. I need action and suspense.

Since I read a lot of scientific papers for work, I like to keep my personal reading a bit "lighter", although I also like a good thriller that really makes you think twice about what's happening every once in a while.

My go-to is historical fiction - usually set in Medieval to Elizabethan England. My father was a WWII buff and bored me with details of battles and weaponry of the time as I grew up. I didn't know history could be interesting. But I was exposed to the novel "Mara, Daughter of the Nile" which was a historical fiction novel set in the time of Thutmoses III and Hatshupset, the pharaoh-queen. After that, I found that the stories of people could really interest me in a time period and I danced around with my reading in that era. 'The Other Boleyn Girl' turned me onto the English history and I have devoured many historical novels by Phillipa Gregory, Allison Weir, and other authors of the genre. In a way, I feel like I'm learning while enjoying my fiction novels. Two birds!

I will basically read anything I can get my hands on however I can never pass up a new dystopian novel. I am constantly looking for new worlds I can get myself lost in.

It depends on my mood, if I'm coming home after a long day and my brain needs to shutdown and not think I go for romance, but it I want something more I either go for thriller, mystery or fantasy.

I like fantasy adventure and political. Actually I should say when I was young it was adventure but these days it ends up being something political or educational. Boring me, I must be getting old!

I usually go for a fantasy, although lately it's been contemporary. They're usually very light, uplifting, easy reads.

Mood. It all depends on my mood. Depressed, read something uplifting. Sad, read something feel good. Bored, read something adventurous. No matter what my mood, I always like to read stories that are far from real life. What can be better than the imagination?
