Don't you think that chasing happiness is the most common desire in human beings? I personally believe it is the biggest drive behind what people do in general. I guess writing The Pursuit of Happiness by Paul Lucas Scott came from knowing how important it is for people to find happiness. The writer forms a guide that can help people understand what happiness is and what they can add to their lives to be happy. The writer moves between topics like obstacles that you can meet, things that increase happiness, and life choices that affect all of that.

I appreciated how the book was very organized. Every topic was discussed in a chapter that included subtitles, a conclusion, and key points to sum everything up. There was a final conclusion at the end of the book, in addition to many references. The book felt more like a study because of that structure. This can be counted as positive or negative; it depends on the reader. However, those excellent organizing skills made more sense when I saw that the writer was also an engineer.

The book contained a good amount of information that can be new to some people and familiar to others. I believe that the strength of the book lies in collecting all of those aspects in one place that can be used as a reference. I also found it a little encouraging. There was some new information for me. For example, I was surprised to find that genes affect happiness greatly. I've always thought that some people were just happy and others were not. This was enlightening in that context.

In general, I liked reading the book. I had higher expectations for it and thought it would be more energetic. This is why I would rate The Pursuit of Happiness by Paul Lucas Scott four out of five stars. The book received professional editing. I only noticed a couple of minor mistakes that didn't affect my experience. I recommend the book to people who would like to get a well-organized guide to happiness.
