Escape by Belle Ami is an intriguing romance set through multiple countries. When Layla follows her college boyfriend to Dubai, she is kidnapped and taken to Iran. Cyrus is sent to free her from prison. Cyrus is ordered to get Layla out of Iran at any cost. Neither of them expects to be so attracted to one another. Is it true love, or is it a bit of Stockholm syndrome?

Cyrus has dedicated his entire life to infiltrating Iran as a deep-cover agent for Israel, believing himself to be cold and lifeless, only living to right the wrongs of his past. When Layla appears, it begins to defrost Cyrus’s heart, making him question: is he as broken as he thought? Or could he learn to love?

This book was very entertaining from start to finish. I truly enjoyed the storyline; however, I wish that some of the interactions were a bit longer. I wish there was a bit more of a buildup to the feelings Cyrus and Layla begin to have for each other. I also wish the author would have given them more of a story before the end of the book. I feel like the way that things were described moved a bit too quickly.

I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars . The book was edited well, as I found no errors while reading. The author did a great job telling the story, as well as making you feel that these characters were truly in the countries described. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves romance with a bit of suspense.

I wish there could have been a bit more description on some of the events, and that the story lasted a bit longer while they were on the run in Iran, trying to make it safely out of the country. As they say, a good author always leaves you wanting more—this book did that for me.
