Are Banshees real?

Has anyone had any experience with a banshee or other harbinger of death? I thought I heard one once, but it turned out to be a cat fight - probably involving at least one cat in heat. I've heard stories of "stray" dogs that come around a person near to death, or someone hearing the banshee cry, etc. Anyone have any personal experience with this? or what do you think? Is there really such a thing as a banshee?

I didn't have any experience with a banshee, but read about them. Anyway, I don't believe in them or in any other spirits.

In my opinion, there isn't such a thing. I don't really believe in any supernatural spirits, but I'm interested to hear what others have to think.

I also have never experienced an encounter or even heard of a real encounter with one. In general, though, I do not believe banshees exist.

I don't believe that banshees exist, but I do believe that some animals have a sense about death. I have heard of cats living in nursing homes alerting the staff to a person who is dying or has recently died. I find animals fascinating for many reasons, and the ability that they have to sense when something is wrong in a human being, even without the human knowing something is happening is one of them.

I don't know if I believe in Banshee's. I've had near death experiences and nothing happened before that felt like a warning.

I definitely do not believe in Banshees but I also believe that animals have a sense of disaster or something like that.

I don´t believe in banshees or any similar creatures but I do believe that the myths come from something. I´m always fascinated in learning about what the origins of such stories are.

I don't know. I have never experienced one nor heard of any else having one. However, they are in legends and myths and those are usually based on truth and facts. The proper spelling is Bean Sidhe.

Banshees have been one of my most favorite mythical creatures of all time. I don't think they exist but the stories are very intriguing. I once wrote a love story of a Banshee and a crazy zombie. It was hilarious!

Perhaps people who have run into banshees didn't make it out to tell the story. ;)

They seem like a mix between sirens and succubi to me, even though they are unique.

I've always wondered about banshees; my grandmother used to always tell us that we were screaming like a bunch of banshees!
