In We Are the Ants, Henry is abducted by aliens and is left with a difficult question - does he push the button that will save his planet or let the planet be destroyed?

Do you believe there are other life forms/aliens out there in space or are we the only ones? Do you believe they have an effect on our planet in any way?

I think there is a great possibility of life on other planets. If so, perhaps they would be as curious about other worlds as us, but who knows...

I believe there is a possibility of life as well, but I don't think they have any effect on our planet.

I actually don't believe in aliens. I do believe there is some phenomena (largely unexplained) that accounts for all the tales. Something causes people to think there are UFOs and aliens and all that. What, exactly? not sure. Even after exploring just about all the possibilities through X-files, I don't really know!

The universe is so large, that I feel that there must be other life somewhere else. But I am not sure that they have bothered to visit earth. If they are advanced enough to travel here, I doubt if the need to abduct anyone for information.

My personal belief is that there must be aliens. The universe is infinite, the probability of our planet being the only one that has the conditions for life is pretty slim. Most scientists will say the same.
I don´t necessarily believe that aliens are similar to us, they may just exist as one-celled organisms, but they definitely exist.
I also, don´t necessarily believe they are interacting with humans either. A lot of the UFO sightings can be explained and I think people are very easy to influence.

I do believe that if there are aliens, one day our paths will cross. However, that probably won´t be for a very, very long time yet.

I do believe that there is life in this universe beyond what is here on earth. The universe is an enormous place... and if life doesn't exist out there, that's a phenomenal waste of space (er... pun unintended). Nature isn't wasteful. Nature will colonize whatever it can. So I am quite certain that life exists elsewhere in the universe.

Now, whether that life is intelligent is another matter. I suspect most non-earth life would be of the simple, single-celled variety, simple plants and animals. Just due to the sheer odds, I am sure that there have to be at least a few other planets out there that support intelligent life, but I'm equally certain that even if those creatures are space-going, they've got no awareness of us, have no way of getting here, and really wouldn't be interested in us anyway.

I love imagining that there are alien civilizations out there but I don't believe they actually exist. However, just this morning I heard on the news that a whole new galaxy was discovered! Oh the possibilities!

I believe that there is a high possibility. As most of you have mentioned in your comments, the universe is massive, new galaxies are continuously being discovered, planets change and space is continually expanding. They may not be as intelligent as our species, or they may be more advanced. I don't believe they have any effect on our planet at this time, though.

Yes, I also believe that there is the possibility of some type of life form somewhere out there. However, like others have said, whatever it is does not affect our planet.

This reminds me about this joke...I can't remember exactly how it goes, but a fish gets caught, thrown back in the water, and none of the other fish ever believe his crazy stories

There are planets that have not even been discovered. The universe is so vast, why would there only be life on earth?

Like many others, I believe there is life out there somewhere. However, the other lifeforms are either way more sophisticated than us and don't want to communicate with us, or they haven't found a way to communicate or cross galaxies. Once we have the ability to warp speed (like in Star Trek!) we'll be able to explore so much more of the universe in less time. Right now we're practically limited to our own backyard when there's an entire city out there!

I believe that there could be aliens on other planets. They may not look we do or they do who know.

The universe is too large for there not to be life on other planets, so I absolutely believe in aliens. I don't think they have any effect on our planet. Maybe once spacetravel becomes a thing... but until that time, we're on our own.
