This is indeed a greatly interesting discussion that hopefully is opening hearts and minds to God's presence.James Craft wrote:Some great and interesting discussions going on here! Really fascinating stuff to see what people believe!

A really good book will open your mind and have you thinking about things that before, you would have never cared about. It's amazing that Raven's Peak has created so much dialogue between its readers.

I believe that we shouldn't blindly accept God and I believe he doesn't expect us to either. He has given us eyes to see and ears to hear in a spiritual sense. So when the bible says we walk not be sight but by faith I think that it means we are not blind - we see with spiritual eyes. I have tasted and seen of God's goodness, felt his presence. So even if I don't understand harsh times I trust him in Jesus name.
Was not my intention to be all preachy here. Just my way of sharing.

No problem, thanks for sharing!Jaime Lync wrote:I can't say I've ever questioned the existence of God but there were times when I lived without paying any mind to his existence. Then there were times when I was very petty and thought that he must be cruel because of hard times in life.

I personally don't see anything wrong with that. There have been times where I talk to God and ask him what his plan are for me because I lacked understanding over my own future. I have questioned a lot of answers that were revealed to me but I've accepted most. I also believe that just sitting and talking to God will bring you closer to him. Even if all you're doing is asking questions, you're still building a spiritual connection.Acwoolet wrote:I don't question His existence, however there have been many times that I have questioned His plan for my life. It's always made me stronger and brought me closer to Him. I think ever is different and may have to question it though.

Do I question therefore whether there is a divine force in the Universe? Absolutely not
I believe the Divine force in the Universe is much more complicated than any one of us can know in its entirety. Nonetheless, each of us is a small but entirely essential thread within its tapestry. Our life experiences, however large or small, are required to help complete the totality of experience which defines the Universe itself.

Well said! ThanksMollymae wrote:Not the existence, but I do question the widely accepted form. The God I believe in is more of an energy than a traditional power. I think we each need to develop a belief system based on what we learn as we experience life.
