In Farmer Beau's Farm, there are many lessons to be learned. We learn lessons about accepting differences, how words hurt people, kindness and many more. Most books for children all have a message or lesson that they try to teach to their young readers.

What children's book taught you an important lesson? Has that lesson impacted your life in anyway?

In my case, my favorite book, "Green Eggs and Ham," taught me that I shouldn't say I don't like something until I've tried it. If I give it a shot, I might end up loving it! The book has impacted my life because it has made me open in trying new things and experiences.

For me, I will choose a children's chapter book that I read in fifth grade - Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. This book has taught me that the world is not a perfect place. That there are people who have real struggles in life and it has nothing to do with wanting a new toy or eating dessert, but their lives are seriously at risk. It really began opening my eyes of WWII and the Holocaust - my fascination of this time period still continues. In fact, I am currently reading a book about the experimentation done in Auschwitz Concentration Camp written by an assistant doctor that was there.

Overall, it has taught that most people, including me, are lucky to live the lives that we do with the ones we love.

I loved pippy long socks and it tought me to speak my mind and see the positive in situations.

The acceptance of differences stands out in my memory, but I can't remember specific stories.

I can't think of any specific books that have taught me a lesson but I grew up hearing / reading bible stories. I usually read the children's bible stories because they are a lot easier to read and understand than the actual bible. I learned a lot from the Bible stories like learning about trust and forgiveness. Most of the stories I liked to read then were about the different people that God called upon to make a difference in other people's lives or their own lives.

I agree in that books taught me to be more empathetic.

Children's books teach you to be kind, to share, and to not be afraid of the monsters under your bed.

From "The Giving Tree," I learned not to give too much of myself away or I'll be left with nothing . I don't know if that was the intended message but that is the lesson I got from the book.

The best one that comes to mind is probably Charlotte's Web. I feel that there's a lot to be learned in this book. The biggest and most obvious is that you shouldn't judge people and you should always be kind. However, one other lessoned I learned when I was in kindergarten, which probably wasn't the author's intention, was that if you know big words and are good at spelling then you won't get eaten...

I don't have a particular book that necessarily changed me. I had some favorites like Roald Dahl but I don't think they really changed me. I think books are to enjoy and to lose yourself in it, but not to have you shape you.

I gained a lot of lessons from children's book. My mom tells us a story before going to bed. Sometimes, I request her to retell a story from the other night, last month, or last week. The greatest lesson I got is, Life is sometimes, a fantasy.

When I read Matilda, the lesson that I learned was that books can help make you smarter. That's probably part of the reason why I love books so much.

I also learned from Harry Potter, the true meaning of friendship, bravery, and to always push yourselves. The trio are loyal to each other, no matter what, and have the best interest in mind. They are brave in order to let good rule over bad. And, they (especially Hermione) show that logic and intelligence gets you very far in life.
