What happened to the kittens that left Farmer Beau's Farm?

I read the book and I really liked it. What was missing though was some info on what happened to the other kittens that left the farm? Where they given to other families? Did the run out in the adventurous country? The book does indicate something like that, because of their nature.
However, children usually tend to the details and always ask questions about what is left unanswered and vague. If you are not fully aware of a cat's' behavior, you may have no idea how to respond!
What do you think?

I totally agree that this is a type of question that children would ask. I think that some parents may venture to suggest the possibility of other farms nearby or maybe the cats left to try to find a home in the city.
Thinking about it, I would say that the kittens left to work for Top Cat from that Boomerang Show or maybe ask Garfield for some advice on how to fatten up and co-exist with dogs. Funny stuff!

Children, being the inquisitive "pests" that they are, will definitely ask this question. Now that you have brought it up, even I am curious.

I would go with the other families I think. It is also a good argument on adopting animals and loving them.

Yes, I am sure children will question what happened with the other kittens. Perhaps they can predict what happened to the other kittens verbally or create a mini-story telling what they thought happened. It could be a fun activity!

You are correct: children will wonder what happened to those other kittens. If this was read in a classroom setting, having the children write stories about the fate of the other kittens would be a great activity.

I would tell children that the kittens ran off to find their own homes just like Kailey did at the farm. I would even turn the question around and ask them what they think happened to the kittens. It would definitely be a great conversation starter.

Good idea! This would be a great way to engage children to think positively! Instead of fretting over the other kittens, they'll know that they are safe in another home. It's an especially good strategy for children who tend to be anxious or pessimistic.

Maybe the author can write another book showing what happened to the other kittens after they left the farm.

Likely they were given to other nearby farms or people living close to Farmer Beau, though you could tell a child the kittens went out on their own to have adventures in the wild. A little more fun to imagine than just home life for a cat, even if the actual life of a feral cat wouldn't be as exciting. A sequel or companion book would be nice, but I think children like imagining their own possibilities just as much.

I know that children would love to know the answer to this question because it is a good one but moments like this are when you can input any narrative that fits the lesson you are trying to teach them.
