A Superhighway movie?

My sister was just looking at the cover for Superhighway and asked me what it is about. I told her that it is about a guy who travels through the internet. She then asked me if there is a movie to it?

Do you think that this book deserves a movie adaptation? Do you have any thoughts as to who would be a good actor to play the role of some key characters such as Alex, Eva and the red headed girl that Alex cheats with (can't remember her name)?

Do you think that if there is a movie it should be kept pg13 or should it be rated R so that they can make it a little gory and add the mature scenes? I honestly would not watch a movie with a porno scene in it but I am wondering what your view is on Superhighway if it was to become a movie.

Interesting. This book will invite the young adults if it will become a movie. I want to see how the director gives life to each character.

Hm...that all depends for me. Since the premise is a promising one, a movie might be interesting. However, if the movie would be mostly based on the book, then I would say no; it would have to be very loosely based. Alex isn't very likable, so to follow his ridiculous decisions for two hours would, I think, upset many people. Or, it might give the wrong impression of what a good role model is to the younger crowd because Alex isn't really a good one.

I thought at first that a movie adaptation is a good idea, but now tend to agree with you.

I'd have to agree. It would only demonstrate how not to behave. We have enough of that in our media.

I could totally see this book as a movie, but agree that Alex isn't exactly the best role model ever.

As I was just thinking about the answer to another question about the book, I was thinking that this reminds me of the movie Jumper(s?). I could see (with a few tweaks) this being made into a pretty interesting movie.

Superhighway might make a good movie for a PG-13 rating. The problem seems to be
that the main character's irresponsible behavior could weaken the movie's storyline.

I can easily picture Superhighway as a movie that kids will like. While Alex may not be your perfect hero, he is a realistic character with strengths and flaws. A little tweaking may be needed to his character to make the story palatable for the very young.

I have to agree with Miriam here. Superhighway may need some tweaking but it has potential to be an intriguing movie.

I agree here. Considering the other movies out there, I think that being irresponsible is almost a must to have an interesting storyline these days. I would definitely see the movie, if nothing else out of curiosity.

I would love it turned into a movie! I am a bit odd in that I usually enjoy movie adaptations of favorite books, so this would be a welcome addition.

that would be a nice idea . But sometimes novel provides you better imagination - every inch taking shape in your mind by how you want . not always , but sometimes movie could become a spoiler.

I agree that there is a lot of things that I would change about the character and some things I would change about the plot. Besides that, it has the potential to be a really interesting movie. Especially with how Alex uses the money to help others. I think that part could be inspirational to an audience.

I would enjoy seeing this turned into a movie. I think the visual of Alex traveling through the internet with the shelves and the light packets would be awesome.

I believe it should be made PG13 with older teens and young adults as the target audience. I think male teens would particularly like the story and relate to Alex.
