Unforgettable Concert Experience

In the book, the three main characters believe that the Adele concert will change their lives for the better.

Have you been to a concert that changed your life? Or the easier question: What is your most unforgettable concert experience?

Mine was when we attended a Barry Manilow concert held in the open field of a sports complex. The huge crowd was so rowdy and it didn't help that the gates were opened late. As soon as the gates were opened, the people rushed in, causing a stampede. It was a wonder we survived the concert without bruises.

It was a festival with bands I didn't really know. The experience was unforgettable though since it rained buckets and we shivered all day. We bought a little warmth in shot glasses (tequila!), watched people wear buckets on their heads and build forts with trestle tables. It was one of the coldest and most entertaining days of my life.

Oh I love concerts and festivals! Best is the first time you see a band you've been wanting to see for ages. When they play every song you know including your favourite. When you sing along with the band and hear the crowd signing with you. When you forget everything else but the music for a couple of hours.

Wow, I think the festival organizer ordered the rain haha. It made the event much more fun! Here in my country we have a beerfest every October. I imagine it's just like what you attended.

I can just picture that: people standing up and raising their lighted cellphones for the mellow tunes or swaying their hips for the danceable numbers.

There was one concert that was just so amazing and that was when I saw Nightwish and Sonata Arctica. Amazing performance. I had chills almost the entire time!

Well, I've been in a variety of concerts (ballad, pop, opera, jazz, salsa, merengue, etc.). Nonetheless, one I remember the most was when I went to Shaggy's concert (an American-Jamaican reggae singer). I was very young at that time, 17. I was enjoying the concert with some friends, listening to the music, singing along, screaming a little and so on when suddenly I felt I was being lifted and pushed to the stage. Then, Shaggy started singing to me and dancing in front of me winking his eye at me. OMG! I was so embarrassed! My friends were just laughing at me because of what they did to me.

I wouldn't say that any concert has changed my life. We do enjoy going to the symphony and to outdoor community concerts. Our favorite symphony was probably when they showed the Star Wars movie without sound, while the symphony played the scores. It helped our kids to enjoy the symphony.

What an unusual presentation! By symphony, I imagine a full orchestra with a conductor. I imagine the effect would have been awesome!

Yes, I agree that counts as unforgettable.

Definitely Depeche Mode at Mountain View in 2006. It was a quasi-religious experience, lol.

A string of unknown bands. They connect with their fanbase a lot more.

Nope. I've never been to a concert. Going to a concert has always been on my to-do list but I never really got a chance...
