I have several favorites. White-tailed deer bring back memories of seeing these beautiful creatures while on vacation when our children were young (and even now that they are grown, my husband and I are happy to see them). Wood doves, which are common in my husband's birthplace of Barbados, are a welcome sight when one graces us with its presence and distinctive call in our Brooklyn neighborhood. And since I recently finished a wonderful book entitled American Wolf: a True Story of Survival and Obsession in the West by Nate Blakeslee, about the reintroduction of these magnificent animals into Yellowstone National Park--and the story of one remarkable wolf--my respect for wolves has grown. (I am, naturally, planning on penning a review of this unforgettable book!)

Such an interesting question. My favourite land animal is the horse. I'm fascinated with their size and strength. And I started being fascinated when I found out that they need higher doses of everything - anaesthesia, painkillers, etc than humans and most land animals. It's a weird fact :lol2: but I wanted to give more context to my answer.

I adore baby ducks. A few years ago I bought 2 little ducks and I grew them on my balcony. They are the cutest creatures but they are difficult to grow in an apartment. They are very noisy.

Dogs. Definitely dogs. That's not to say I don't love other animals like elephants and the big cats, but dogs will always come first, since I was raised with them.

One of my favorites, however, are owls. I love me some owls.
Harry Potter has had a huge weigh on on that decision for me, but owl has always been my favourite animal. :D

I would love to be the lion. Who wouldn't want to be in control and scare others away? Oh! And don't forget, eating meat all the time.

I love dogs and cats. I would also add owl for land animals that fly.

I believe that would be a horse though there are so many that i could watch for hours. I love the beauty of them as they run and their sleek, shining bodies. Also the range of colors and patterns make each one beautiful.

That's hard to decide but either a giraffe or a panda. But being a pampered dog doesn't sound bad.

I have this irrational dream to have a pet white tiger. Obviously never going to happen, but I just love the beauty of them. They are my absolute favorite. I imagine just sitting with one like you would with a dog, then reality sets in and I think about getting my face ripped off, and the cost of feeding one. Oh, and the fact that I live in a three bedroom trail or. Lol

I would say the cottontail rabbit. They look cute and cuddly and I can see them hop and play regularly.
