I really enjoyed this book. As a fan of fantasy novels, I found it very true to form. I loved the world building, unique and well developed characters, and epic battle scenes. I would definitely recommend reading this book to fans of dark fantasy and magic. Readers should use caution, though, as there are quite a bit of descriptive violent scenes. I gave this book 3 out of 4 stars due to scattered errors throughout the novel, but I think the story itself deserves a 4 star rating.

I found this book quite entertaining and suspenseful. I rated it 3 out of 4 stars because of the gaps in the storyline. Also there were so many kinds of creatures that I kept forgetting which character was what kind.

It seems most of these books that talk of the end of the world, focus on a unified kingdom, rather than the fragmented pieces of states that we have today.
Does that explain something about the fiction writers?

I think the high levels of violence could turn some readers off. That said, a lot of fantasy readers today cut their teeth on George R. R. Martin, who certainly doesn't shy away from the gore. I wonder if Victor Rose took GRRM's work as a baseline?

I’ve read reviews that compare this novel to Game of Thrones, but I’ve not personally read or watched it. I feel like I should, though. It’s generally my go-to genre for books.

I enjoyed the book. It did put me in the mind of those period pieces like GOT. But it had it's on world which I enjoyed!

This was such a great book! I would rate it 4 stars. I love how well developed all of the characters are. There's really nothing I did not like. The violence that is warned about has its place, so that didn't really bother me.

Right from the start, I enjoyed the book. I'm not a huge fan of fantasy fiction, but I liked the style of writing and that it wasn't too confusing given all the magic, characters and beings. 4 out of 4.

I’m glad you enjoyed the book so much even without being a fan of fantasy novels! I enjoyed the writing style as well.

I haven't read the book yet, but I DID read the sample available yesterday, and as a big fan of Game of Thrones, I can say that so far, it does not remind me of that novel. Still, since I hadn't even gotten into the real story of the story, I can't answer with any real authority; perhaps I'll revisit this question when I read the whole thing.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It's kind of like Harry Potter with the graphic content of Game of Thrones so...a mature version of Harry Potter, I guess. The setting is so highly detailed and the characters are highly developed. Overall, a really good read!

It is a beautiful read that is educational in its own way. The reasons for the rise and fall of kingdoms are same experienced in our leadership today. I rate it 4 out of 4.
