Pacing in Connection with the Themes

I liked that there were shown different perspectives in this book. Like reading 5 different diaries.

I think its a matter of style. The plot was coherent and connected so readers were not lost and confused. I didn't find it slow pace, but that's my perception. I've read another book on here that told five different stories at once instead of here where its different perspectives but the same overarching story.

The different perspectives did cause this type of drag for me because I kept trying to remember which character I was dealing with - they were all female and the personality differences seemed to lay solely in their status (in a relationship/single, wealthy/poor). There's a lot of explanation in the first half as well, then the ending swoops in out of nowhere and just shakes up the entire story, so towards the end there it moves a little faster.

If truth be told, I'm not bothered by the pace of the story because it allowed me to fully immerse myself into the the world and thought of each character.

I enjoy books with various perspectives, such as this one. However, I thought that it contained too many details that weren't very necessary for the progression of the story. In the end, I liked the book's pacing, even though it could be a little bit faster.

The five perspectives didn't bother me, and I love it when stories are told in the the first person. In fact, I didn't mind the introductions, but by the time I got to the part where Rose was teaching fly fishing to Melody, I wondered if the whole book was going to be about fly fishing happening in the same setting. But the pace picked up right after that part, and I enjoyed reading the rest of the book.

I'd never thought of this but I suppose the slow pace does thematically link with the slow pace of fly fishing... that doesn't make it interesting though!
Pacing was a huge issue for me, even during the heightened events near the end I was still screaming at the book to hurry up. Having to endure every scene multiple times from multiple perspectives was maddening sometimes

It was a slow paced book but it seemed to me like a plot to have you captivating by each of their individual personalities and lives to make the story broader
