Who was your favourite character?

With a book loaded with so many unique characters, there are a lot to choose from.
My favourite was Bud. I thought he added some comic relief to the book, and I particularly liked how he broke into song at any given opportunity.

Bud was my favorite character, too. Adding a comic sense and a lightness to the story was much needed.

My favorite character is William Lance. He is a very good father especially since he raised Debbie alone since her mother died. I like how he made her call him at least once a day ever since she first got a phone. I also like how he leaves her post-it notes with serious or humorous things written on them. I think it's nice to read about a dad who is good, loving, and doesn't shy away from being a reliable father.

I haven't read the book yet, but knowing myself, I'd love the villain

I've only just started the sample, but my initial reaction to Debbie was "ugh". Spoiled and pampered Long Island princess that I can in no way relate to. She seemed nonchalant about the passing of her mother because her pink mansion and extensive wardrobe seem to make up for it. Perhaps I'm judging her too harshly though. I'll probably finish the sample just to see if Debbie is as unlikable as I think she is.

I actually couldn't relate to any of the characters, however, I agree that Bud provided the comic relief. Thus, if I had to choose, I would choose Bud.

I liked the character of William Lance as he was more than a dad, and involved in her daughter's life in every possible way.

None in particular. I usually do not choose favourite characters unless, either they have a great resemblance to me or they had a strong influence that made me weep for them

William Lance, (Debbie's dad) was my favorite character. He is a bit over-protective of Debbie especially as she has to contact him every day, even now when she's an adult. I think this made him relatable as a lot of dads can be this way when it comes to their daughters.

William Lance is my favorite character because he is so sensitive and responsible too in the case of his daughter Deborah.
