Book Review: In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All
In It Together: The headline to the book should just say it all, ‘The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All’ is a thoughtful, profound and beautifully written chronicle of the human condition by the thoughtful and sensitive writer. The book explores the different struggles and successes that make up this paradox of being and underscore the unity that unites us as one community of people.
Table 3 identifies the plot of the book where the narrative revolves around various personal life accounts and philosophical musings on the human life. Exploring topics that range from meaningful messages that focus on triumph over the odds and acceptance of the other, to more messages that speak to the reader about gentleness, a better understanding of others and togetherness, the author is able to create a rich set of experience. The stories originate from various cultures and experiences based on personal background, occupation, and age and overall, the focus is drawn towards the fact that no matter how different our lives may seem, we all suffer and strive alike.
This storytelling approach is still one of the book’s major strengths: it demonstrates that despite trials and tribulations, there can be better and brighter days in the future. Yet, the author’s attitude – loving and positive – helps readers look at the world with a positive perspective and understand that beneath every difficulty and struggle, and there exists an opportunity to value life. The story also contains many provocative observations and questions for the readers to ponder, which makes the reading meaningful and reflects on the current state of the society.
The language used in the report is also simple and easy to follow hence passing out a true picture of the existing situation, even as it presents fairly complicated concepts and realities. A few instances where the author can be seen interacting with readers who are moved by the pieces include, In particular, the way the author is able to create an opportune intimacy between herself and her readers can be highlighted, as such a strategy ensures that the readers have the impression that the ‘story is ours. ’
However, there are some issues that might be considered by some readers as drawbacks: the structure of the book is based on the combination of several more or less connected individual narratives as well as existential reflections upon them. Still, the otherwise specific imperatives of a united and resourceful community with the determination to overcome the difficulties of modern life are very clear and comprehensible. However, I rate the book 5 out of 5
A powerful and engaging book, Let’s face it, we are all in it together is an inspiring read that makes us appreciate the fact that the progressive future is possible through collective efforts. Overall it can be stated that society and resist the forces of oppression is an inspiring story that would be valuable to have in anyone’s collection of literature.
