ARA Review by Patricia Stevens 3 of Demon Spawn

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Demon Spawn by Margie McDonnell Welsh is a fictional book that tells the story about a half-breed woman, Sahara, who communicates with Angels.

Sahara, is a social worker whose husband finds out she is of mixed race and can't handle it; nor can the rest of the world they live in. She is assigned to care for a group of half-breed children and keep them safe. She meets two Angels, who help her but also have a vested interest in her. In her journey to keep them safe she encounters dark creatures, evil humans, and dark angels. I rated this book 3 out of 5 stars .

I felt it was similar to the TV show "Supernatural", where the Angels manifested in our natural world. But in Demon Spawn , the world has changed and yet in many ways is similar to the natural world we live in now. Although, the book was interesting, well written and the characters were well developed, for me it was hard to read. Dealing with a fictional story line that is based off of absolute Truth, was cringe worthy and surreal. The supernatural and paranormal romance aspects were for me distasteful, there again because of the distorted Truth, mixed with the visual sight of things that should not be seen, thought of or imagined, (AKA a scene in Hell).

I didn't give the book "4 out of 5 stars", because I simply could not enjoy the books much as I wanted to. I could not get my mind, soul or body to accept the story line! This book is for anyone and everyone who likes twisted angels, devils, and dark creatures, whether you are into fantasy or the darker side of reality, this book is for you ... but not for those who know the absolute Truth, I'd say for the devout Christian, it's hard to swallow.

I wanted to rate the book a "2 out of 5 stars", but the plot was good and held my interest, therefore I gave Demon Spawn , a 3 out of 5 stars .
