Not something I would usually read but was a very well written adventure story. The authors knowledge really shines through and it was a gripping storyline. Would definitely recommend!

I have a difficult time reading any book with cursing in it, but other than that I found the story captivating and the characters were all very well portrayed. Larry and Louise were my least favorite of the characters only because they stole the ship! I had sympathy for William and the rest of the crew as they were forced to abandon the ship and had to face so many obstacles trying to survive. I did not do a review but I would rate it 3 out of 4 stars only because of the language. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone I know who loves to read! The author did an excellent job with the story and the portrayal of the characters!

I really enjoyed this book. There were moments that my heart was pounding, like when Larry’s hand and foot are severed trying the get the tow hooked up.
I thought the characters were well developed and I liked getting to see how the seemingly unrelated story lines actually all intersected. It takes a special skill to be able to do that and not confuse your audience.
I would definitely recommend this book to people who love a good adventure thriller.

I thought this was a very interesting book. There were a lot of sub plots and characters to keep track of though. It also jumped a lot so I'd give it 3 stars

vishu wrote: 03 Apr 2019, 12:05 The book was a simple read to me. It was inspiring at times, like when the crew was out in the sea, but it was nothing extra ordinary to me. Though, the author's writing style is very polished. The characters, while well written, weren't relatable for me. The editing certainly uplifted the book. I rated the book 3 out of 4 stars.
I agree the characters weren't super relatable. There were so many you'd think I'd relate to one, but that wasn't the case.

Despite the grammar issues I noted, I found this book outstanding. Definitely 4 out of 4 stars.

Believable characters, vivid emotions, gripping action. And a few questions hanging to keep one eager for the next book.

Surviving in the deep sea is such an inexhaustible theme! I've learned out of reviews that the characters are well developed, and the book has a great plot, so I would love to read it.

I gave Adrift a 1 out of 4-stars rating. In ways, it was an alright story. Yet, I felt that there were too many side stories. As well as with all the added stories I did not feel that the majority of them really should have been in the story altogether.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved how three-dimensional the characters were and how the author wove their individual plots into the main plot. One thing I was not a fan of was in the first chapter with the fire, there are so many names and positions thrown at us when they are abandoning the ship that it became confusing in an unnecessary way, especially because the names and positions are repeated when the characters are more defined and memorable later on. I would absolutely recommend this book to other people.

I enjoyed reading this and rated it 3 out of 4 stars in my review, but I definitely feel that it would have been a better experience if I had read Strong Heart first. There are some references here and there which make you realize that you've missed out somehow.
Another issue I had (and I see I'm definitely not alone, judging by the forum discussions) was with the first person and third person use for the main characters. Having seen the author's thoughts on this I now understand it, but can't say that I fully agree with it. Two of five characters in the first person caused a bit of a distraction for me.
The story was gripping and I'm looking forward to the next in the series for some answers to the many questions we have! Mr Sheldon assures us there will be. :)

I liked the memorable characters in the book, especially William, dare devil Larry, Sarah,Anne and Myra.

Parts of the book made me cringe, for example, when Larry got injured and right after the crew had to abandon the Seattle Express and make do with abhorrent conditions in their life boats.

Still, it's a well written, book, filled with suspense, spirituality, and twists and turns in the plot.
I am yet to rate my review, but as of now,I give it 3 stars out of 4.

I found the book to be very captivating. The themes of faith, hope, and love are inspiring and the sea adventures are enough to keep a reader thrilled throughout the read. The author has done a good work at creating a coherent story by combining different themes within the plotline. I would recommend this read to thriller and suspense fans and to sea adventure lovers.

I haven't had the chance to read it yet but based on everyone's comments it sounds great. I've never read a story set in the sea, this sounds like a great one to start with.

I think that the book deserves at least three out of four stars based on the excellent story lines introduced in the first three chapters. I've given the novel that rating so far, because I haven't finished reading it.
