I rated it 3 stars as well for similar reasons. I think it's a common theme that people have been confused at times and I think it was due to the authors writing style..it didnt exactly flow and was hard to follow at timesCotwani wrote: ↑22 Sep 2019, 17:31 I liked the premise, a parallel world with beings that are sounds having corresponding beings - echos. Its just that sometimes there was too much information, and I ended up lost on what was going on. Like why fate sealers were so savage - lol!
Overall, I would rate the book 3 out of 4 stars and recommend it to lovers of fantasy.

I do love fantasy, this book sounds wonderful!gali wrote: ↑31 Aug 2019, 23:41 I finished it the other day and like it overall. The concept is original, but the world-building reminds me of Harry Potter's world. The story follows the magical quest of a twelve-year-old boy, as he goes into the parallel Echo realm to search for his missing sister. I love the idea of a parallel world, where reflections (echoes) of people (sounds) live. The illustrations added to the magic of the world. I enjoyed the scene where the pets revealed their true selves. Although I didn't notice any glaring errors, the writing was a bit juvenile. Still, I liked it. The orphanage reminded me of Hogwarts with his methods of serving meals, riddles, secret passages, and scary creatures that roamed the school. I loved that Hebrew was the key to the map and to saving Echoland. I liked that animals played a large role throughout the story. I also liked the play on words such as: the dog Poudini instead of Houdini; Crystalmas instead of Christmas. I enjoyed the book, but the plot felt a bit choppy at times, the fate sealers seemed to attack without any reason, and some parts dragged (the translation section). Therefore, I gave it 3 out of 4 stars.

That's a good way of putting it - I had expected more from it too and i did find it confusing at times. Her descriptions probably made sense to her, but to someone just being introduced to her world it was hard to follow. I think the hype with all of the 4 star ratings had me thinking it would be better than it was (in my opinion)A G Darr wrote: ↑24 Sep 2019, 06:41 I gave this book a 2 out of 4 stars. While I really enjoyed reading the book, at times the situations could be confusing and hard to follow. I also agree with other individuals who say there are parallels to Harry Potter in this book. I am glad I read the book, but I'd been hoping for more from it.

I like the concept " readers who love to dream while reading"!fmd1821 wrote: ↑07 Sep 2019, 02:10 I read The Crystilleries of Echoland some time ago and rated it 4 out of 4 stars. The story is original, and the author develops it well. Considering the setting and magic of this book, I think I would recommend it to readers who love to dream while reading. It is an amazing read, and I hope I will have the chance to re-read it again soon.
