I'm glad I'm not the only one! I will say it makes a lot more sense if you read the book twice, but you shouldn't have to do that to grasp a story. I think the writing style is to blame
You read through twice? Wow, I cannot see myself doing that just to understand the story.
I read the first half of the book anand became frustrated with how confusing i found it all to be, so I started over. It made a lot more sense the second time lol I didnt think the book was horrible, but I wasnt a fan of the writing style. I probably wouldnt choose to pick up a sequel
I can see that lol. I wouldn't choose to read a sequel either. Maybe I'm just not into fantasy anymore? I used to be but this one was tough for me. I can see young adults being into this book though.

The violent scenes are few and far between, but if you are not a fan of fantasy then I'd steer clear if this one!
I still love fantasy; I just do not like the teenagers acting more mature and level-headed than adults. That seems to be a genre nowadays and Harry Potter was my first and last love.
I definitly preferred Harry Potter to this book - hands down!

And that seems to be the theme in young adult fantasies overall. Kids doing things adults wouldnt do
Then we are in agreement :)

I actually really liked the originality of the story. I have only read the sample pages, but I have to say the plot seems quite dark considering it’s a children’s book. That being said, so was Harry Potter and that was a marvelous success.

I think the author did a fantastic job with describing the scenery and the difference between the real world and other realm were easily pictured while I was reading.

The relationship between the boy and his pets was my favorite part as I have a very soft spot in my heart for animals.

I rated it 3 out of 4 stars. The concept was interesting and the scenes were often beautiful to imagine, but it felt vague and hard to follow at times.

The Crystelliries of Echoland, is one book that I find interesting due to the the theme of adventure.

Also, it has movie-like characters that one can learn from.

Idk because I THINK I could still get into reading through Harry Potter and I've recently read a vampire series that I enjoyed. I really think it came down to the writing style.

It is an original idea that has quite a few parallels to Harry Potter. But HP is much better in my opinion! A lot of people, myself included, found the writing style to be a bit confusing at times. There are some dark moments, but it isn't too dark for teens

Im thinking, from the summary and the reviews I've read so far, that my daughter would really enjoy this book. It seems like a world she could get in to. Can't wait to hear what she thinks.

True. The writing style of Harry Potter is a lot more clear and feels more relatable. There is a lot of character development, as well.

Pellucids writing style was....unique. I have never came across one quite like it (and I didn't really like it).

What is your overall opinion of the book? What do you like most about it? What do you like least? Will you recommend the book to other people? Why or why not?

Please remember to add your actual rating using the book's page on: Bookshelves.

Crystelliries of Echoland is a book I think it is enjoyable read because of the theme of adventure.

In addition, the characters are relatable to personalities in our society, today. This element is what I like most.

I can't pinpoint any fault therefore I will recommend it to fans of fantasy.

Thank you for the question.

The adventure was unique, which I liked as well! I found a few faults with the book though :?

I just finished it today, actually. In the beginning it was a little hard to follow since so much happened, but once I got the hang of what was going on I actually loved the book. Toward the end of it was the most action and I read the last 4 hours of the book this morning lol
