If you're not into symbolism/theme/quotation explained/ motifs don't read any books written by Franz Kafka. You will curse the book until you go blue. You will think this book is really cliche ( if though it came out before we were conscious of culture). I learned the hard way when I referred many of my friends to THE LAST CASTLE. After the first chapter they died. If you like plot driven books- again this is not for you. Readers need to be patient and understanding to really enjoy Kafka's novels. You know you're on a whole new level when you can stand Kafka's character development drivel.
