“The Cello Maker” by David P. Andersen includes sixteen short stories covering many topics over a several year period. All of the stories include a message about life and how our actions affect others. A wide range of topics including computer languages, two stories that have supernatural themes, some are about love, others are about airplanes, some go back to the late 1940s while others are current day. The “Ugliest Dog in Kilkee” was the official reviewer’s favorite. I personally liked the two stories in the sample: The “Cello Maker – a day in the life of a craftsman” was excellent and provided several important messages regarding kindness and support. “Echoes down Colorado Street” takes place in Minnesota and taught a seven-year-old boy about business negotiations, a loving family, proper etiquette and respect for his parents and others on the street. The bucket of water for the horse that pulled the ragman’s wagon and the story about his grandmother whipping a delivery driver that had beaten his horse with a whip after it tired from keeping the wagon in place on a hill since he should have chocked a wheel before e the driver made a delivery. She told the man that he should appreciate what the horse does for him. This is a very enjoyable book that am adding to my to-read shelf.

I love the short stories format because they are easy to read on a subway or bus on your way to a job or university, and this collection holds a great promise of believable fiction that the reader will be able to better understand and relate to the actions of characters. Double points for the actual educational angle by providing technical information. Congratulations on BOTD!

The book sounds truly intriguing. People often don't think how their actions affect others. I appreciate the author for trying to shedding light on this important topic. I can't wait to dive in and learn more about these stories.

Here the author, conveys a different stories of life and how our actions of daily life make impact on others. One of the example is how he used the phrase, he signed a small arpeggio of resignation, in the story of cello marker.
