The Hunger Games Series are books every one should pick up. They are filled with action, drama, romance and a little comedy. The books are pretty easy to read and they don't leave you bored or wanting to stop. This series is one of my favorites. The end of the series is very heart warming. You can buy these books at almost any book store or at amazon. These books also have quite some violence. If you've seen The Hunger Games Movie you'll definitely LOVE the series.

I liked the story. I didn't like the characters I just found myself hating them in the end.

I loved the series! From the start I was hooked with the strong female character in an extreme environment. Having to fight to survive like that, what a concept! Very interesting story line that continues in all three books. The third one was a little drier having less character development than the first. What I liked the most was the speaking style of the characters-free and unrehearsed. Sort of like the conversations you would have with your friends. I enjoyed all three books.

I read all three books whilst on bed rest during my pregnancy and absolutely loved it soo much I held out on sleep for hours trying to get through them. But even through all that rushing I didn't want it to end, was a sad moment when I got to the end. I think I read all three within 4 or 5 days soo you definitely can tell I didn't want to put it down

I absolutely LOVE The Hunger Games series!! But i do believe that this is due to some sick fetish i have with dystopian books. The only thing i ever could say bad about the Hunger Games was the writing style was sometimes not consistent. I have known many a people to drop the book just because the author kept jumping around. But other than toughing through that i absolutely loved the book!!

I read all three books in the series and found them wanting. The story itself was decent and constructed okay; my issue was with the writing itself. I enjoy technical works, not necessarily details about all of the surrounds; but I enjoy a good complex story. I would highly suggest these books to readers around the ages 10-15. I myself am 25 and I found myself being bored halfway through book 1.

Additionally, The Hunger Games itself was definitely the best of the three. I read Mockingjay quickly just to finish the series, not because I enjoyed it.

Again, I cannot reiterate this enough: GREAT SERIES for a YOUNGER AUDIENCE (10-15).

The Hunger Game series is good. It reads like a young adult series, but I know many adults who have read it and liked it. The author does a good job at creating the setting and characters and after you read the first book of the series you will want to finish it off. The movie was a major let down. Maybe the second movie will be better.

Although I read all three books, I was not pleased with them. They are fine for a one-time read, but for someone who keeps interesting books and re-reads them – this was not the book/trilogy for me.

I didn't get through the first book and won't be trying again I'm afraid. I'm more into realistic and possible type stories. This book/series didn't keep my attention, although it was suspenseful and surprising at times, which is fun.

Just not my cup of tea!

I loved this series! I will say that the last book was not as interesting as the first. I liked the characters, plot, and setting. I have reread several times and will probably do so in the future.

Ugh these books are incredible. I purposely read them before the movie came out, because the movie is always sub-par and I wanted to like this series for the books, so that is what I did. Now there seems to be so many other book series "Divergent", "Matched", etc. that have a post-American culture. Which I think is so interesting because the Hunger Games is what seems to start all of that.

Romance novels are my favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved this book. There is a slight hint of romance in the love triangle, but most of this book was about revolution and uprisings. This book veered me away from my normal selection of books and onto something greater.

I guess it's an okay series. Read it but my interest started to wane after the second book...

Dphaber wrote:I loved them, but the third book was just plain depressing. I've re-read each multiple times, but Mockingjay is one that I only go back to if I'm in a particularly robust emotional state- the first time I read it I was pretty down for a week or so.
Dphaber,

I had heard others express the same opinion so I wasn't expecting much in the third book but I actually liked it very much and believe it or not actually thought it was the best written (in terms of writing craft) of the three. I think Collins was trying to build on the concept, before you can witness the dawn you must stand for awhile in the darkness idea. By that I mean: the things that made Mockingjay "depressing" also served to make us appreciate what was sacrificed by the characters to gain their freedom. By the ending of the book I saw Katniss as a venerable and scarred war veteran and considered her in the same light as I do real-life war veterans. This wouldn't be the case if the depressing aspects had not been there. I think Collins knew what she was doing and though I do agree that there was a bit of a departure in the style from the first two books I nonetheless enjoyed it very much.

I honestly was skeptical when my friend first recommended this book, but usually we like the same books so I read the novel. I instantly fell in love with it, although I did not like some aspects of the book, most of which is already mentioned so I'm not going to bored you with the details that you have probably already read. I read the next book ready for it to be even better, sadly I was disappointed. The final book was not any better. I honestly think she should have stopped with the first book, or change the events that happened in the second and third book.

I really enjoyed the series! The writing's pretty good, the dystopian story is really interesting, and the characters are well-developed. The first movie, however, was pretty cheesy, in my opinion. Love Jennifer Lawrence, though!
