Thank you for your great review! This is a comedic collection of stories told by the character Gertie McDowell, I read the sample. The character has hilarious phrases and she gets into crazy predicaments. It is a fun read for anyone.

This review beautifully captures the essence of The Ping-Pong Champion of Chinatown by James Hanna. It highlights Gertie's relatability, character growth, and the humor that defines the narrative. The balance of wit, satire, and smooth transitions between stories makes the book sound like a delight. A thoughtful and engaging recommendation!

The dream to become a superstar can sometimes take you into a whirlwind of adventures. The journey of Gertie McDowell, a 23-year-old small-town girl from Turkey roost, is bizarre yet funny. From being the “little miss twinkle toes” to the “Ping-Pong champion of Chinatown” Gertie gets absolutely candid narrating her story. The girl is credulous, and it propels her into insane situations all the time. I must say the author has a whimsical sense of humor and a strong composing of characters. With all the striking metaphors, witty questions on the bible, and subtle use of political satire, James Hanna makes the reader chortle throughout. Anyone who wants a hilarious read must grab this unforgettable story of Gretie McDowell.

This is a comical collection of stories that follows Gertie as she travels from Kentucky to LA and does everything she can to get away from her boring life back home. However, some adventures and opportunities are not what they seem and Gertie might feel disappointed more than once.

I really enjoy books like these, full.of humar and people experience life outside the 'box' they grew up in. Willing to take a change to reach their dreams. I'm normally not one for short stories but since all stories are about Gertie, I'll definitely reading this soon. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD.

Your review is cheerful and asks me to grab the book immediately. The Ping-Pong Champion of Chinatown seems to be a good entertainer and a memorable read. Complete with drama, humor and fun-filled adventures. A fresh breath of air among fantasy, crime, and horror-dominated story space. I can't wait to find out more about Gertie and her adventures. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.
