Thank you for your review. I read the sample. The couple is to be commended for sending their daughter away from this terrible country that does not protect their citizens with albinism. Thank you to the author for bringing this problem to the public by writing this story.

I am really interested in reading this book because I'm aware of albinism and its ramifications for those with the condition, so I was curious as to how well written the book truly was. Thanks to the reviewer, I now know that it's realistic in its portrayal of the condition, the dangers posed towards those with albinism and their families, as well as the social mores attached to it.

The book sounds really interesting, heartwarming, and informative revealing the lesser known facts about the world and its inhumane behavior towards people who are different in any aspect. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I wasn't aware that albinos are treated differently in other countries. The idea of them possessing magical abilities is truly absurd, and harvesting their organs for these so-called abilities is more than ridiculous. I'm curious about what will happen to Annika with the white couple.

Eager to learn about the fate of Annika and her parents. This book illustrates the myths around albinos that we have heard since we were children. Interested in reading about them in this book

Discrimination of any kind is reprehensible, especially when a child faces it. I am glad Alex was able to escape the witch doctors of her homeland. I hope she reunites with her parents.

Thank you for the great review.

Drawing awareness to human rights issues, today's BOTD is a fictional novel that follows Alex, a young woman with albinism who was smuggled from Africa to CA as an infant to escape deadly superstitions. Now a human rights attorney...haunted by visions from her past...she sets off on a global journey to uncover her origins, alongisde a colleague with his own remarkable rescue story. What an awesome review! This sounds so good! Thank you so much! :-)

"Zeru Zeru Girl" by Barbara Kerr is a true eye-opener. I have always understood racism and other types of discrimination, but I never knew Albanism was one of them. This book is definitely an exciting read. Congratulations on the book of the day.

From the title of the book I’m already curious of what the book plot is all about. Annika must have gone through a lot following her predicament as a kid. I would really love to read all about her. Great review.

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! I appreciate how you highlighted the emotional depth of Zeru Zeru Girl and the way Barbara Kerr brings her characters to life. It’s heartbreaking to read about the dangers faced by people with albinism in Tanzania, and I found it especially powerful that the book doesn't shy away from addressing these real-world issues. The situation with Lily being left behind at the airport sounds devastating and really emphasizes the moral complexities of the choices Samuel made. I’m also intrigued by the character Alex and her journey to understand her origins—it sounds like a compelling parallel to Annika’s story. This review convinced me that Zeru Zeru Girl is more than just a novel—it's a moving, eye-opening experience.

This review covers the sample well enough to leave room for suspense. It was a betrayal for lily to realize the plan to go as her baby's nurse with the visiting couple was a lie. I'll read this to follow on Alex's journey as she finds out who she is.

'Even more concerning was the belief that albinos possessed magical elements in their bodies, leading to the disturbing practice of capturing them and harvesting their organs.'
I've heard that albinos are endangered in some parts of the world. I guess Annika's story will be quite insightful on that.
