Dorothy May Mercer's Pastor B and the Haunted Church is a heartwarming, faith-oriented mystery that mixes small-town appeal with a touch of the paranormal. The story tracks Pastor Bertram—"Pastor B"—a thoughtful and down-to-earth minister who takes a new job at what seems to be a peaceful church.

The characters are charming and credible, the style is readable and discreet, and the tension is mild enough for mystery readers who don't wish to have graphic content. It's an excellent pick for readers who enjoy stories that explore the human side of religion, friendship, and problem-solving with elegance.

Thank you for this detailed and engaging review of Pastor B and the Haunted Church by Dorothy May Mercer. It sounds like a gripping mix of mystery, history, faith, and real-life issues—all woven together with skill. I’m especially intrigued by the blend of paranormal activity and historical elements like the Underground Railroad, as well as the emphasis on Christian values and leadership. Reverend Alan and Sharon sound like deeply relatable characters, and it's great to hear how their faith drives the story forward. The mention of sensitive topics is appreciated too—it’s helpful to know who this book is best suited for. I’ll definitely consider adding this to my reading list!

I really live the feel of history in this book, the mention of the Underground Railroad and descriptions of the church with its "priceless stained-glass windows, oak pews, and 100-rank pipe organ" appeal to my tastes so much that I can even forgive the paranormal aspect I usually dislike. Congratulations with BOTD!

'The River Heights Church is a 100-year-old mansion with a spooky history dating back to the 19th century, which the older congregation likes to tell stories about.'
Spooky history and spooky stories? I'm interested.

The book is really good. The author captured my attention and I didn't even realize that I had read 6 chapters. The book was well written and , from what I noticed, the editing is on point. Congratulations on the BOTD.

'Official Review: Pastor B and the Haunted Church: A Christian Mystery Suspense' by Dorothy May Mercer has a good and thorough introduction. It provides the essential details related to the fiction's plot. Mercer maintains the mystery and suspense throughout the storyline, with deceit, jealousy, greed, gambling, the Underground Railroad, and a suicide attempt. She showed how we can develop good leadership skills while volunteering at our church. It was great to learn that readers would learn many life lessons from the book!

Thank you for an engaging review. I'm not Christian, so as the title suggests, I'm not usually interested in this topic. But I'm all in for the paranormal mystery and suspense. From your review, I see that Pastor B is a likeable character.

I'm not sure I'm into a book that combines religion and the paranormal; however, the review is great, giving so much relevant information about the story.

The first book in Dorothy May Mercer's Christian series about the River Heights Church is Pastor B and the Haunted Church: A Christian Mystery Suspense. The oldest members of the congregation enjoy telling stories about the eerie past of the 100-year-old River Heights Church, which dates back to the 19th century. Prior to Reverend Alan Burke's retirement, Bishop Remarque believed that allocating this deteriorating church would be a pleasant experience.

I love the historical and paranormal aspects of this novel. Who says we have to limit the spooky for the fall? And I've read other books by the author, and they're great. I also appreciate that she consistently incorporates important social aspects into the mystery.
Thank you for your review.
