That is a very good question, and thank you for bringing that up. I would say it is possible, people already tend to be and are suspicious when politics are involved, and conspiracy theories and whistle blowers will always be. And these two by themselves generate alot of heat..what I mean by heat is fear and panic.. suspicion among citizens. But how can one not be a little anxious with all that is mentioned here in Ramsay's book. And with (everything) thats going on in our world today. But thats just my opinion lol. I saw your review of this book on reviewcentre.com, great review!Anindita wrote:In the so called 'age of anxiety' that we are in, this book pushes the reader to contemplate how political institutions can be be made more transparent and accountable. Do you believe that greater accountability of public insitutions and more information will create a culture of suspicion among citizens?

This novel deals with the one lesson that should be learned about the events that occurred on September 11, 2001…. If we give into fear then we have allowed the terrorist to win. No one can truly imagine living through such an event but J.E. Braun has skillfully fashioned one man’s decline after surviving this devastating attack. Told through seamless flashbacks, we see how he has become crippled by fear and paranoia until it spirals out of control and he becomes completely dysfunctional in all aspects of his life. With dry humor and exquisite wording, J. E. Braun holds the reader captive and makes every nuisance of paralyzing fear and paranoid thoughts come alive. Whether personally effected by the events of 9/11 or not, this is one book that every American should read.
