A Reckoning of Wolves is a mystery novel by Judy Higgins. In the opening scene, we meet Dr. Lawson on a hesitant trip to Saudi following an invitation by Princess Safiyyah. After suffering a heartbreak from Sandra, this invitation was a sigh of relief for Dr. Lawson. He decided that the four weeks in Riyadh were what he needed to forget about Sandra and finally move on. Nothing would have prepared Dr. Victor Lawson for what was about to unfold. His belief in human rights and the freedom of expression, enjoyed by most Americans, would be tested, leaving him questioning everything he has ever known.

This incredible work of art is everything mystery lovers look for. The author uses language that will keep you on the edge. She lets a few hints here and there to give us a snippet of what is coming. As the book ends, you can tie the clues together, leaving a satisfying feeling as the mystery is finally solved.

One thing I loved about the book is the perfect blend of themes. There is not much exaggeration of scenes, and one can easily see the events transpiring in real life. The event at the border, about a book, brought a sense of reality of what freedom entails. The book educates and enlightens us on what goes beyond our comfort zones of freedom.

There was nothing to dislike about this book. The characters were few, which allowed me to follow the story. I appreciated the glossary at the end of the book with Arabic names and their meaning.

In terms of editing, I noticed a few typos. However, they were not a distraction for the reading experience and did not warrant a deduction from the book’s excellent score. I rate this book a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars due to the many positive qualities I noted earlier. Fans of mystery and fiction novels will relish this book the most.

A mystery is exactly what I like. The fact that it doesn’t have romance, at least enough to mention and that there are only a few errors make it even more appealing. A glossary is just a plus. Thanks!

Yes, the reviewer is right: I also enjoyed the blending of different themes and aspects, and the immediate plunge into the horrific ‘Karshoggi’ affair was enough to take me further and find out what the story is all about.

A Reckoning of Wolves* is a gripping mystery that follows Dr. Victor Lawson’s journey to Riyadh, where his beliefs in freedom and human rights are challenged. Judy Higgins skillfully blends suspense with realistic themes, creating a story that’s both thought-provoking and engaging. Despite a few minor typos, the book's strong narrative and compelling characters make it a must-read for mystery lovers. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Readers of **”One Year, One Night”** by S. L. Roman will be taken back to the 1960s but at the same time think about the effects of World war II. As it has been mentioned, the main character is a woman named Annie; the story takes place during the commemoration of the end of the war in her native town, where Annie re-opens her wartime diary. When she reads the words coming from her younger self, she imagines all the struggles that preceded her and all the transformations that were initiated by the war.

Much has been done to intensify the picture of the girls and women during this politically social and turbulently historical era. The use of the two ANnies that are the young and older sister gives the readers the most emotional understanding of the impacts of war. The characters are therefore well created and mirror real life hence making the stories interesting. The book is both poignant and insightful, offering a well-crafted, short read that is highly recommended for fans of historical fiction and young adult literature [[❞]](https:Press, available at [//booktrib. com/2024/06/05/a-riveting-journey-of-love-loss-and-growth-amidst-wwii/] [[❞]](https://literarytitan. com/2024/03/17/one-year-one-night/) [[❞]] and [//www. kirkusreviews. com/book-reviews/sl-roman/one-year-one-night/

Someone who believes in human rights and freedom of expression would have them seriously tested in a country such as Saudi Arabia. That theme would be enough to create a lot of tension, and a mystery would add to it for an interesting novel. Thank you for your great review!

Judy Higgins has a real talent for storytelling. Her style is unique and captivating. Ms. Higgins’ writing immerses me into the story, like I am standing in the room watching the characters converse. In this case, Dr. Lawson is the same age as my son, so I can easily picture him. Ms. Higgins’ work always surprises me in the best way, and this book is no exception.

A reckoning of Wolves by Judy Higgins would really be an interesting book to read. Despite his heartbreak experience, he still believes in love. That's really intriguing. The book is inviting.

A mystery novel set in Saudi Arabia challenges Dr. Victor Lawson's belief in human rights and freedom of expression. It is exceptionally written, raising questions and pushing readers out of their comfort zones.

This book seems to include everything a good mystery story should have. It uses appropriate language to keep readers on their toes. It leaves a few clues here and there to give us a sneak peek of what's coming next. Plus, at the end you can piece together the clues as the mystery is solved. The inclusion of themes like human rights and freedom of speech add intrigue to the story. Sounds interesting!
