[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Two Arms and A Hand" by David MONAGHAN.]
David Monaghan's book Two Arms and A Hand is filled with tales from his life; they are not arranged in any specific chronological order; rather, it is merely a collection of fascinating events. The author discusses a number of humorous things that happened throughout his life. It has ten or more distinct accounts of his life. To be honest, the tales in the book are very funny; some are about the author acting goofy, while others are about his dogs.
To be honest, I really enjoyed reading this book. I didn't think it would be hilarious, but wow, was I wrong. It was put together and had a good framework. The author skillfully delivers every humorous passage. The author would be extremely wealthy if he pursued stand-up comedy. All of the stories were entertaining, but my favorite was the one in which he pretended to be having a tantrum in order to get his daughter, who was also having one, to stop. It worked out well. He may have looked foolish, but it was effective. One of my other favorite stories is the one in which they actually abducted a priest—yes, you read it correctly. I won't give anything away; read this novel on your own and have fun. You won't get bored with this short read because it has so many fascinating stories. This book is for you if you like to read funny stories about actual occurrences told in a flawless manner.
I give this book a rating of five out of five stars since I can't think of any reasons to lower it. It was a really well-written read with excellent delivery. It was too good to ignore, so even though it was brief, I read it right away. I don't think it will be appropriate for youngsters because it did contain both borderline and non-borderline profanities. Bravo to the editors for their excellent editing. Read this book for a few minutes during the day; it will pass the time and make you smile.
