Review of The Journey
The Journey is an adventurous book with a magical storyline by George Drummer. The story is about an unusual dog named George. George has some unique capabilities that other dogs don’t usually possess. Ashley and Edmond have a daughter named Jennifer. Ashley and Jennifer love dogs. But Edmond is not so much into dogs. But because of his love for his wife and child, he agrees to adopt George.
The entire family goes on vacation. They enjoy it, and everything goes well until George goes missing. George gets lost while chasing a butterfly. It leads to a big problem. He needs to find his way back home. Thus, the journey begins. Can George overcome all the struggles during the journey? Will he make it? Can he forgive his owner?
One of the things that I like about The Journey is the author’s imagination. The creativity of the author made this book exciting and fun to read. It is an adequately paged book that will ultimately give you goosebumps. You have to read this book and find out.
The author mentioned a quote by Audre Lorde that went, “It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.” It has a deep meaning. We should not treat or judge people differently by seeing their differences. It was an apt quote for this book.
However, I didn’t like how this book ended. The storyline of The Journey was built very well, but it was disappointing towards the end. Being a dog lover, this one didn’t stand up to the test. I couldn’t process the ending.
I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. I gave this book a lesser rating as the story didn’t reach the expectation that it carried all the way through. There were also a couple of errors in this book, and it needs editing. The Journey is more suited for people interested in unexpected magical twists. If you are a dog lover, you will enjoy The Journey. Find out if Christine is a boy or a girl by reading The Journey.
