Brooke is a widow struggling to make ends meet, having to care for her son and ailing mother. After her husband’s death, Brooke retreated into her shell. Things get worse when her home is foreclosed by the bank. With no place to live, Brooke is desperate and moves in with her friend Melinda. An opportunity arrives when Melinda tells Brooke of Jake, a wealthy man looking for an already-made family to appease his mother regarding her constant prompts for him to get married. Jake already has a stunning girlfriend in the city, Jenny, and both aren’t looking to settle down in the foreseeable future.

Proposing a marriage of convenience, Jake agrees to take care of Brooke’s financial problems if Brooke deals with his mother. Is the offer too good to be true? Can this be the answer to Brooke’s problems? Find out more in R.A. Lee’s Love Again, Love for Them.

I had mixed feelings about this book when I first started reading it. I thought the plot was a bit cheesy and fairly predictable; what were the odds of Brooke finding exactly what she needed: a wealthy man who needed a family and her baggage? However, R.A. Lee delightfully proved me wrong as I moved forward with the story, and by the middle of the novel, I honestly couldn’t predict how it would end, which I absolutely loved.

Another thing I liked was the way R.A. Lee handled grief in the book, using Brooke’s loss of her first husband, Matthew. Most people expect those who’ve lost loved ones to move on, but through Brooke, I learned that it’s a journey and a process, and one might never fully heal from the pain. I also enjoyed R.A. Lee’s depiction of different kinds of love and how being committed to someone can be a form of love.

However, one major thing I didn’t like about the book was the dialogue; it was sometimes awkward and stilted, many of which were caused by incorrect punctuation and errors. These dampened my enjoyment of the book. As a result, I’ll deduct a star for these and rate Love Again, Love for Them by R.A. Lee 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed reading your review, it sounds that it is a well-crafted book. You would be surprised to learn that unfortunately these marriages of convenience happen a bit often, especially for people who are financially challenged. I can't imagine Brooke or her new husband finding happiness for real. Of course Brooke doesn't have the financial issue anymore, but what about everything else? My guess is that she will eventually fall in love with her 'pretend' husband or for his brother if he has one :) to make it all more dramatic.
