Review of A Father's Justice

A Father's Justice! by John D. McCray is a story full of twists and hardships, showcasing a relationship between a father, son, and the world that can't accept the son's, called Ryan, uniqueness. His life was complicated from the beginning, and his past played a drastic role in shaping his adulthood. The only person who always stood by his side at every step of the way was his father, Robert. He would've never expected his son to turn out homosexual. However, he made peace with the fact as soon as he noticed the signs. He lost his wife when Ryan was relatively young. Robert never abandoned Ryan or made him feel unsupported. He always showcased his love and prayed for him. What he didn't know, though, was that despite living a dangerous lifestyle and getting involved with strangers, Ryan's safety was, in fact, never in danger with them. They were the people closest to Robert who caused Ryan all his traumas, and once the father found out, he took justice into his hands in every single instance. The book is saturated with suspenseful scenes, and the truth is not revealed until the grand finale; therefore, the reader never loses interest.
The book felt like a roller-coaster ride. The warm and supportive relationship between the father and the son charmed me from the beginning. It kept the book interesting, as their loyalty was tested numerous times. I also appreciated the love Ryan and his stepsister shared. He often got emotional flashbacks about his mother, and it nicely displayed the family he was raised in and the values he respected. His love was also evident when he decided to change his ways once he got in trouble, and his parents, the father in real life, and the mother in a dream asked him to walk out from danger. Many people got Ryan into trouble, but he also had many saviors, such as his friend, who revealed the mystery and was like a brother to him, and his lawyer, with whom he kept the relationship going after the case was over. I exceptionally appreciate the author's skill at displaying relationships and feelings. Ryan's life was tragic but also full of meaning. He never lost hope and kept praying to God.
On the other hand, I don't think the book was professionally edited. I found numerous errors. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.
I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars, deducting one for the errors. The readers must understand that the book contains erotic and traumatic scenes, so it's not a lighthearted read. Those who can overcome them will not be disappointed. Please be aware of this and read at your own will.
