Review of Now That Makes Me Mad...About Politics
Now That Makes Me Mad...About Politics by Dr. Keith A. Robinson is a book on American politics from a conservative perspective. The author is a capable individual who has stood out in several areas: Screenwriter, Bestselling Writer, and Former Ordained Police Chaplain, among many other things. In this work, he uses indirect attacks (others not so indirect) and satire to attack liberal politicians in the United States. The book was written on the eve of the last election won by Donald Trump.
As I've observed when analyzing works within the same genre, I intentionally set aside ideological biases and focus on evaluating how effectively authors substantiate their arguments. Public officials, regardless of their political affiliation, ought to face not only legal accountability and scrutiny of their conduct but also public criticism when they engage in deceit or ethical breaches. That's the book's main asset: the author employs sharp wit and incisive satire to critique progressive leaders. While I admired this approach, I would welcome a similarly thoughtful examination of conservative figures in another work—provided the analysis matches this book's intellectual rigor and depth.
Unfortunately, the book features many grammatical errors. It is not that the author has written many words with incorrect spelling, but there are numerous cases of spacing problems. Commas without proper space, words together, etc. These errors made the book not seem like it was professionally edited. I stopped counting on ten, but I would say that there are over 30 similar errors. That's what I liked the least.
Overall, Now That Makes Me Mad…About Politics is an intelligent book that makes an acidic and deep criticism of the reality of American policy on the eve of Donald Trump's election. As much as I have enjoyed the content, grammatical errors are excessive. I had to deduce One Point from the final score. Therefore, I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book to all those who want to understand the tumultuous months before the last American election. This book is written and provides criticism from a conservative perspective. In this way, I would say that only those who consider themselves generally "right-wing" will like the work. Unless it is clear that it is an impartial person who likes to understand how both sides think and form a clearer view of a country's reality. The book features some profane words and should not be read by children under 18.
