Does anyone else wish that Dermot had faced a tougher fate? I wish he'd have been dragged into court, either in Ireland or back in the US, and been forced to explain himself to a judge/jury. I feel he got off too easily for what he had planned. Thoughts?

I agree. I think Dermat got off way too easy. Maybe in the last book of the series, he will have to pay a big price for his actions! I hope so, anyway!

Yes. There was too much backstory to Dermot's character, not enough epilogue. Also, I didn't like that his backstory made him a more sympathetic character. As a villain, I expected to hate him even more.

I’m sure the Irish courts would have had little trouble getting cooperation from the American government considering that Dermot was behind the killing of 2 American citizens. I would have liked to seen him have to pay for his crimes.

I believe that Dermot's fate will be discussed in the next book of the series and I believe that Seamus will be the one to bring him down.

Yes! He needs to answer for the murders. He should definitely not get away with that!!!!

Indeed, Dermot was one of the main loose threads remaining in the novel, though I suppose it makes sense if the author plans on continuing the series.

I think that could be something left for future books. Either way, I am not too bothered with it. I was more interested in other parts of this book so I didn't care for him or his fate but I can see it as a loose end.

Yes I had wished he suffered severely for his crimes. If the author decides to continue the series it will be necessary for Dermot to pay for his heinous crimes.

I agree! That was an easy get-off for the weight of what he had planned. I believe a weightier fate will befall him in the coming series of the book.

Dermot is a villain, no excuse is tenable and he should get a well deserved punishment for murders committed

I also agree that he wasn't given the punishment he deserved for his actions.

I agree. A villain should be someone you can hate, in my opinion, it's a little disappointing when you can't.

Yes, I agree he just left , but at least his dad got caught. That was kind of wierd that his dad was the assassin. I would think he would be arrested for murder inIreland because that is where it happen, even if he didn't directly do it. He just has a lot of money to get away with it. Maybe he'll resurface in the next book and Bridget can get retro justice for his evil deeds.

I agree with you. The Irish and United States governments have a pretty friendly relationship overall. I bet he could have been punished for the crime. I feel like the author did not really want to deal with that part of the story and just brushed it aside.
