Hero of Faith

One man stood out, wrote history, and then made God condemn an act which automatically leads to a yardstick for judgement and punishment for the culprit. On the other hand, God accepted his spirit by wresting him from the demons because of his faith. Abel becomes a hero of faith when he sets that standard. It was not self righteousness that made him offer God an acceptable sacrifice, it was faith.

I agree that it wasn't self-righteousness, but faith that made Abel give an acceptable sacrifice to God.

I agree. Abel did what God asked him to do in his work and faith.

God accepted his spirit by wresting him from the demons because of his faith. 100% Correct, Abel became the hero of faith because he believed in God the Father beyond measures.

I can't agree with you anymore. As a Christian I believe that faith is fundamental; even the Bible alludes that with the faith of a mastard seed, one can move mountains.

It is true that God has made Abel do whatever he has done. He is the real hero of faith.

I agree that Abel is the hero of faith. But I wish there was more in the book talking about Abel.

Abel is the Hero because he was cent percent faithful for which God admired him. Killing of Abel forced God to announce death penalty for a person who kills other person.

I agree completely. Abel became the hero of faith because he believed so deeply in God. It was his faith in God that saved him.

Abel is portrayed so nicely in this book as a hero of faith. He is in sharp contrast with Cain, who epitomizes worldly men who are seeking after worldly wisdom and knowledge and does not truly believe.

Truer words eerh never said. Indeed, it was because of Abel's faith, not his self righteousness.

This is a really great point. I would say Abel is the quintessential personification of a faithful servant in the Bible.
