The relationship between parents and children is the earthly representation of the relationship between God and man. God made man in His own image. What does that say? He created a being that looks similar to himself. How is it that we take after our parents? God is our guardian, and comforter. Isn't that just like the relationship between a parent and a child.?
God is our provider. How is it that we depend on our parents for nearly 75 percent of everything we need on earth. Not just for material things, but for moral and emotional support, advise, cautioning guidance etc. God is love.

That's true. When we look at God as a real person, a loving parent at that, we'll feel more comfortable relying on him. The same way we do for our. You're right, God is our parent.

I totally agree, God is our parent thus the phrase "God the Father" in the Christian belief. He created man similar to Himself in regards to us striving to act more like Him. This is so that our actions honor Him. God is our comforter because He is our Creator and Provider since everything, according to the Christian faith, is given by God.
