Queen of Highwings: A Worldmaker of Yand Novel by Andri Elia is a stunning sci-fi/fantasy novel from the Worldmaker series that takes place in the future.

In the Yandar Kingdom of Highwings, Hrysanthia, a Yandar princess, is in a fight for her life, as well as the lives of her family, friends, and inhabitants of their land, against an invasion of an intergalactic species known as the K’tul. The K’tul are comprised of three species, Grey, Blue, and Purple. The K’tul are determined to kidnap the Queen and princesses and wipe out anyone in the way. They are pursued through the countryside assisted by the Yendai and Phe’laki. Princess Hrysa is a warrior who fights against the K’tur and Tjourhian tribes and gets injured in battle. Princess Silvia, an eight-year-old child, is the one that the K’tul are destined to take to use her powers as a Worldmaker to conquer the lands.

This book is a superb action-packed drama utilizing the many aspects of fantasy to develop an incredibly detailed adventure. It incorporates fantastical creatures such as winged humanoids, mages, witches, and unicorns, as well as animals that talk and shapeshift. These creatures can shift dimensions, use telepathy, cast spells, use wormholes in space, and other special abilities. It is a science fiction lover’s dream.

I am rating Queen of Highwings: A Worldmaker of Yand Novel by Andri Elia 5 out of 5 stars for the reasons stated above, as well as the fact that the characters are so well-developed and intriguing. The only issue I had with the book was following all of the names of the characters. So many are introduced in this book that it can get a little confusing. The non-stop action keeps the reader engaged throughout the entire plot. There were few grammatical errors, which made for seamless reading. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to sci-fi/fantasy enthusiasts.
