Nightlord: Sunset by Garon is a compelling fantasy novel that excels in world-building and character development. The narrative follows a Nightlord as they navigate political intrigue and supernatural challenges. Garon’s writing creates a richly atmospheric setting, skillfully balancing action with in-depth character exploration. While some plot elements may feel predictable, the dark tone and escalating stakes contribute to a highly engaging and immersive reading experience, particularly for enthusiasts of high fantasy.

This review makes Nightlord sound absolutely fantastic! I'm always on the lookout for a good fantasy adventure, and the mix of humor, action, and a fresh take on vampires sounds really appealing. "Vampire Grim Reapers"?! That's a concept I haven't heard before and I'm definitely intrigued. Plus, the reviewer saying it's one of the best books they've read this year and giving it 4 stars is a huge recommendation. I'm adding Nightlord to my "to-read" list right now!

A thrilling fantasy quest, the book is the first in a three-part series. Adventure, action, magic, and humor abound in this edition. The book stimulates curiosity and ignites the imagination.
Broken-hearted Eric drowns his sorrows in alcohol after his fiancée dumps him, and when he wakes up the next morning in a lovely stranger's bed, he feels different. He gradually discovers that he has been transformed into a vampire without his consent, and worse, that he has acquired enemies known as the Church of Light from a unique measurement. When someone close to him is killed, Eric seeks retribution on the Church of Light and unintentionally opens an enchanted entry to their world.

Great review! I read the summary on Amazon and downloaded the book. Although it seemed like an awful lot was going on in this one book alone, I find myself thoroughly interested now that I have read your review, and you say he describes the characters in detail.
The twist on this vampire's abilities compared to all the other stories I have read is what has me intrigued.
I also read the author's info, and he sounds like a fun sort of man with a huge imagination. From the way you describe the character Eric, it sounds like the author made him a mirror image of himself personality-wise.
:eusa-think: Teach a child to read, and they can go anywhere and be anything within the pages of a book.

There are so many books on vampires out there, but it seems that this one stands out. Eric started as a normal man and ended as a hero with powers. I like that the story has depth, humour and self-reflection.

Quite exciting fantasy story in the book "Nightlord: Sunset" by Garon Whited, which is about Eric who when wakes up finds himself on a strangers bed being a vampire. A nice balance between the reality and fantasy.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

This book sounds like an intriguing mix of fantasy, action, and adventure. I’m really curious about how Eric deals with his transformation into a vampire and his quest for revenge against the Church of Light. Congrats on BOTD!

"Nightlord: Sunset" by Garon Whited is book 1 of a 3-part series about an exciting fantasy quest. This book includes 680 pages of action, magic and comedy. The main character is Eric who was dumped by his fiancé and he ends up drowning his sorrows in alcohol. When he wakens the next day, he is in a beautiful stranger’s bed and he learns that he has been changed into a vampire without his consent and he also inherited enemies called the Church of Light from a different dimension. A close friend of his is murdered and he seeks revenge on the Church of Light and by chance he opens a magical portal to their world. Eric’s natural abilities to use magic grow quickly and he gains new friends. He ends up fighting a dragon, battles armies and eventually finds and confronts the Church of Light. Eric becomes a hero after his battlefield achievements. The author developed each character and the story telling flows really well. Vampires are not possessed by demons but they ease a person who is dying and then absorb their life spark. Eric is alive during the day with a beating heart but at night he dies and wanders about as a corpse. He seeks blood because he needs it to survive. The book has an unusual twist on vampires, morality, education, freedom and medicine. This is an epic adventure fantasy that should be enjoyed by most OBC members. The sample is excellent and it motivated me to add this book to my to-read shelf. One unique feature of this story is if one reads it more than once they may learn something different each time. The book deserves the 4 out of 4-star rating and I look forward to the next two books in the series.

The book seems to have a lot that's unique. From the use of different vampire lore than those we are used to, to the use of storytelling through journal entries. I'm excited to read this

Eric is not your typical perfect hero he makes mistakes, he gets carried away by anger and he has to ask himself how far he is willing to go for revenge without losing himself in the process

The use of journal entries dated with the Gregorian calendar adds a unique touch to the storytelling, grounding the fantastical elements in a familiar framework while making Eric’s transformation feel more personal and immersive.
