Jeff Michaelson's "Anticipation Day" got me diving deeper into the book I forgot I went pass my sleep time. It just drags you in! I think the character development is good however I have to say I did not agree with just the quick ending. But the book is still intriguing to read. Who knows Jeff Michaelson might have for us a sequel. Fingers crossed!

This book presents an interesting theme and storyline that'll appeal to its target audience, but I'll pass on it. Thank you for the review.

Anticipation Day is a captivating novel that has a great futuristic plot. I like the concept of characters being placed in different settings & bodies by use of simulations. I'm curious how events will unfold in the story and what consequences will arise from use of such technology. Congrats on making botd!

"Anticipation Day" by Jeff Michelson seems like your typical doomsday tale but with a twist that features technological advancement and the rise of virtual reality as a plausible future. Jeff's book calls to mind a vital questions at the heart of the great anticipation for a better near-future through technological; what are the odds that such future will be realistically better off than the present/traditional norm?

"Anticipation Day" by Jeff Michelson takes place in the near future, where simulations can place you into a character’s body in any setting. The simulation last seven hours but it can seem like a day or even a year has passed. The government hopes to use these simulations to motivate the population. There are requirements to participate in these simulations: need to maintain a job, attend health screenings and keep out of legal trouble. This story follows a group of friends as they participate in the simulations. The government’s purpose for doing this is to provide peaceful vacations that many of the people need but one has to wonder if there is something sinister going on. I would find these simulations very exciting and I would like to test the process. Alexandra requested a simulation that would enable her to experience a vacation by herself in Brazil. Alexandra had a difficult marriage, her husband was an alcoholic, and she had children so her simulation as a single 30-year-old on a beach in Brazil showed how unhappy she was in her life. Simulations can be tailored to enable a participant to face a major issue in their lives. The official reviewer rated this book 4 out of 5-stars primarily because the book ending came to abruptly and could have been a slower transition. I found the same type of transition at the end of the sample. The process needed to accomplish approval of the Anticipation Day bill.

I am always skeptical about any initiatives the government is promoting. I always cringe because most of them have a hidden agenda to make those who put them in power rich. I can't wait to see the outcome of this government powered simulation program.

I enjoyed the sample I read. I am glad to read the review. It would bother me if I felt the ending was rushed. Maybe the author had a deadline to meet. I did enjoy the character development. I really felt like I was getting engaged with the story. Congratulations on the BOTD.

I'd guess many people would look forward to "Anticipation Day," a day a year in which they can escape their daily realities. I also wonder what the experience will be like for Alexandra, Eric, Patrick, Mike, and MaryAnne, especially because the simulation may have secrets of its own. Thanks for the review!

I like the entire concept of the book, and I admit that I would want to try the simulation experience myself, cause I sometime wonder what it's like to be someone else. However, I think it's best to leave things as they are and make the most of any situation we are in to create the best of our reality. Kudos to the author for a great book.

'Anticipation Day' seems like a well written and gripping tale of how AI can be used to escape reality. However terrifying the idea may be,it's reality in near future seems possible. Thank you for the review!

This storyline is fascinating. Will the vacation in the virtual simulation though have people well relaxed in real life if the timeline doesn't match. Quite something to read.

Anticipation Day" by Jeff Michelson sounds interesting, and the idea of living a year in just hours through simulation is cool. I really want to find out what’s going on behind it all.
