A man-made worldwide catastrophe is depicted in the dystopian science fiction novel
Ultimatum Vladimir Jepthe Fleurisma. The most valuable natural resources have been destroyed, and a big science experiment gone awry has resulted in a plague and an abnormality that was entirely avoidable in the shape of deformed and genetically altered animals. The development of a new apex monster demands an instant halt, as the planet is on the verge of a new order. The main protagonist, a Marine by the name of D, who has the mission of reaching Three Mile Island at all costs, is surrounded by a cast of several people, each of whose points of view are provided by an omniscient narrator.
It’s only been 18 months since the 50-year resource war ended in a nuclear fire. Now everyone must contend with the new super predator, which is seeking to establish itself as the new apex predator. D is a marine raider with one simple mission. Reach Three Mile Island. To do this, he’ll have to cross a nuclear wasteland of sunless cold and sheering winds. Avoid the new mutated apex creature that controls this new world, and be wary of anyone else also looking to reach Three Mile Island. He'll either do it or kill everyone and everything who tries to stop him.
What I like about this book is that it is a quick read because it pulls you in and you can’t stop reading. There is plenty of action and suspense. There is humor and action. Fleurisma did a great job with the details, too. You can almost see the surroundings as if watching a movie as you read. If you enjoy sci-fi, this book is for you. The book is set in a futuristic time where an almost apocalyptic event has taken place. Anyone surviving without food and suffering from radiation sickness. They are avoiding the virus, and the mutants are killing anything they can.
There wasn't anything to dislike in this book. The character development in this book is one of the best I have seen. The deadpan narrative and D's character are thoroughly developed. Those who surround him are not fleshed out any less, and the standouts were Zach and D's sometime lover, Cella. The story has about a thousand different ways it could evolve, including a prequel that would likely be just as exciting as a follow-up, and I look forward to seeing where Fleurisma takes us next.
I think I will give this book a
5 out of 5 stars rating. In the upcoming novel, I'm interested to see where Fleurisma takes these characters. I'm hoping it'll hold my interest just as much as the first did. On the off chance, try this one. You won't be let down, in my opinion. I was not, I am sure. There is no denying Fleurisma's brilliance. I'm so happy I came across this writer. I'll keep an eye out for any new products that appear on the market. The editing was exceptional. There wasn't a single error.

The future depicted in this novel is really bleak, so I need to be in the right mood to read it. However, despite its dark tones, it seems engaging, so I'll look into this series. Thank you for your great review!

Mutant animals sound quite terrifying! Thank you for your review of this book. I wish I was a fan of dystopian thrillers, in which case I’d pounce on this one, but I prefer other genres. I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as you did, though.

I am fascinated by the man-made worldwide catastrophe is depicted in the dystopian science fiction novel. I am intrigued by the 50-year resource war ended in a nuclear fire. I am interested in finding out if a Marine by the name of D will be able to complete his mission of reaching Three Mile Island at all costs.

"Ultimatum" appears to be a story of survival, desperation, and the lengths to which individuals are willing to go in order to secure their future in a world forever altered by nuclear conflict. It explores themes of human nature, adaptation, and the consequences of environmental destruction. The story seems to be a thrilling and action-packed adventure set against the backdrop of a bleak and dangerous world.

This is an interesting dystopian science fiction fantasy novel highlighting a nuclear wasteland, genetically mutated predators, survival, and unique characterization. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review.

The plot doesn't seem engaging, yet, I'm thinking I might read this one day, as you mentioned awesome character development. Thanks for the review!

Sounds like a wonderful book, at least for those who enjoy the genre. The sci-fi and dystopian genres are hit and miss for me, as I tend to prefer something grounded in more reality than not. However, I do enjoy a good book that explores character and setting struggles, which appears plentiful in this post-nuclear piece.
Well-written review, so much so that I will give it a ponder about adding this book to my list!

Wow, I find your review exceptional. This sure sounds like a fascinating book, and you sold it very well !
I'm particularly intrigued by the mutant animals. I want to know more and see how D's mission turns out in the end. I'm eager to discover the personality of each character as they try to survive in this apocalyptic environment.

After going through the sample my curiosity was heightened as why D wants to reach Three Mile Island. Would like to go through the whole book and subsequent books in the series to get the answers to so many questions.

This book will definitely make a very good read. Impressive review. I love OBC.
