Rose and Her Magical Journeys tells the story of Rose, who used to live at the Larkin Home. In this shelter, she was overworked by the matrons. The time came when Rose had to move away from the home to another facility, Forever Home, where she hoped life would be better. This was a pipe dream as Forever Home was no different.

Miss Stone and the 'four sisters' responsible for Rose's welfare were excruciatingly mean to her. Fortunately, she met Hope, a girl who lit up her face. One morning, she woke up to find Hope's bed empty; she was gone. While this saddened her, she eventually met a dove and named him Mr. Waddles. Their relationship was also severed when the dove vanished. To exacerbate her loneliness, Rose was thrown out of the shelter by Miss Fee when she found her sneaking to the kitchen to fetch a piece of bread after going to bed on an empty stomach. Before leaving, however, she had earned herself a nickname, Evol. What did Evol do afterward that made people so terrified of her? Will she weather the brutal world on her own?

I loved how the author portrayed how children can be innocent. Rose was a kind kid until she met Miss Stone, a mean sister. She told Rose that kindness belonged to fools. This somehow got into her, as evidenced by her meanness towards people she met when she transformed into a witch and earned the title 'the Evil Witch.' Despite Rose's vengeance, I was pleased by the author’s portrayal of the geese. They were kind to the witch, although she had been messing with them. It reminds children that they must not reciprocate evil for evil. In fact, being good where evil reigns is likely to bring a changeover. The novel is divided into multiple chapters. Each section is riveting and relays vital themes.

'The Soldier' was my favorite chapter. It depicts the essence of family. Upon learning of his imminent reunion with his family, George was over the moon. The choice of vocabulary is excellent; children and adults will bolster their base of adjectives as Dalgis Edelson vividly described the settings. Moreover, the book contains graphical presentations that make the reading experience memorable. I recommend the book to anyone who values children's books.

Rose and Her Magical Journeys was edited exceptionally. Based on the positives discussed, I rate this read 5 out of 5 stars. It is a phenomenal novel that imbues the spirit of love, forgiveness, and redemption. I didn't find anything flawed in the story.

The story of Rose in "Rose and Her Magical Journeys" sounds like a rollercoaster of emotions! It's heart-wrenching to hear about her struggles at Larkin Home and Forever Home, facing cruelty and loneliness. The mysterious disappearance of Hope and Mr. Waddles adds an intriguing layer to her journey. The transformation from Rose to Evol hints at a significant change or event that might have shaped her, leaving readers wondering about her future endeavors and the challenges she's yet to face in the world. The anticipation is high to discover how Evol navigates this brutal world alone.

Rose's journey was really a sentimental one and I feel for her that she was overworked by matrons at Larkin Home and even when she felt an chance to change was near she still faces similar in Forever Home.
